Following the succes of its first edition, the second edition of the BOLIVIA book, by Dr. Ivar M. Mendez, MD’86, PhD’94, offers three additional chapters and new photographs throughout the book with the intention to broaden knowledge of Bolivia, its natural wonders, culture and people.
This book seeks to open a door to Bolivia, with insights that will stimulate the mind of the reader and promote a greater understanding of its people and its situation in the world. The photographs represent a personal view-moments and places that caught the author's eye and his imagination. Although the book is organized into eight chapters that loosely cover the different geographical regions of the country, this division is largely artificial. The photgraphs should be viewed as a continuum, intended to provide the reader with a visual glimpse, necessarily incomplete, of a fascinating region of the planet, its people and culture.
