Frugal Lawyer, Flashy Lawyer

Retired lawyer Ronald Smith, rich and frugal, finds himself bored to death in retirement and decides to move to a struggling city in western Ontario to learn about the poor in society. Residing in a run-down tenement, he works for free in a seedy hotel as a dishwasher and regains happiness and purpose by helping others in small ways.

After he is robbed and mugged one night, amnesia sets in. Emerging from the coma with no recollection of his past life is flashy, spendthrift New Ron, who quickly becomes repulsed as he discovers Old Ron’s miserly ways.

Determined to spend Old Ron’s money before the cheapskate resurfaces, New Ron heads out on a driving trip where he meets and falls in love with Sonia and finds contentment in upscale living. Everything is idyllic until New Ron hits his head during a bumpy helicopter tour.

Then the fun begins. Old Ron and New Ron start meeting in shared dreams, and neither one knows which persona will wake up the next morning in the real world with Sonia.
The battle is on for supremacy, each Ron trying his best to irritate and upset his detested counterpart and win Sonia’s heart for himself.
