Upon the Japanese invasion of Hong Kong in 1941, Rebecca Chan Chung fled from Hong Kong to Kunming, China, where she worked as a nurse for the Flying Tigers and then the U.S. Army. In 1943, she joined the CNAC and flew over the Hump about 50 times.
