Alumni Western Be Extraordinary The Campaign For Western

Emerging Themes through the strategic planning building process:

  • Communication – to ensure that we are advocates for alumni and ambassadors for the university we truly believe in the critical role that a sound communications strategy plays for us
  • Leading in Learning – we see a role for the Association in serving as an extension of the education that alumni receive while they are students on campus. We want to ensure that we are offering opportunities for alumni to attend lectures, learn from one another and advance both personally and professionally.
  • Volunteerism – we know that alumni love to give back to students. Ten Thousand Coffees is just one way to participate. We hope to create a strong platform for alumni volunteerism in the coming years.
  • Partnerships – we see tremendous opportunities right here on Western’s campus. Partnerships with Athletics, Continuing Studies, the USC, our Affiliated Colleges, our faculties, Western Libraries…the list goes on. Together we will be able to truly enrich the alumni experience.
  • Recognition of alumni success – through our awards program, featuring alumni on our notable alumni page of the website, inviting them back to campus to speak to students
  • Legacy – leaving lasting reminders of alumni contributions on our campus – through capital projects like Alumni Hall, and named spaces in many campus buildings, directing funding in the name of the Association for student financial aid and supporting projects that reflect our values
  • Meaningful programs & services – that resonate and reflect the diversity of interests and phase and stage of life of our alumni population
