Alumni honoured with Order of Ontario

By Richard J. Brennan

The Order of Ontario is the province’s highest official honour. It recognizes any current or former long-time resident of Ontario who has demonstrated a high level of individual excellence and achievement in any field benefiting the people of Ontario or anywhere in the world.

Dr. Jeffrey Turnbull, MEd'90, physician, humanitarian and Medical Director of Ottawa Inner City Health, (providing medical care to Ottawa's homeless). His model has been widely studied and replicated around the globe. Through his work with the province's most vulnerable, Turnbull is working to address social inequity and its impact on our health.

Hon. Warren Winkler, LLD'11, former labour lawyer, mediator and Chief Justice of Ontario who negotiated some of the country's most significant and complex labour and class-action disputes, and fought to increase access to the justice system.
