Seven alumnae, one student among Most Powerful Women

Seven Western alumnae and one current student were named recently among the 2015 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winners, sponsored by the Women’s Executive Network (WXN).

“For these highly accomplished women, receiving a Top 100 Award means much more than recognition or a chance to share the spotlight with other remarkable Winners, it’s an opportunity to pay it forward,” said Pamela Jeffery, WXN founder. “WXN Top 100 Award Winners are powerful women both in their careers and their potential to transcend boundaries to have a greater impact on the communities around them.”

Western winners included:

  • Marni Dicker, BA’91, Executive Vice-President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Infrastructure Ontario;
  • Laura Dottori-Attanasio, BA’88, Senior Executive Vice-President and Chief Risk Officer, CIBC;
  • Marilyn Emery, MScN’74, President and CEO, Women’s College Hospital;
  • Catherine Karakatsanis, BESc’83, MESc’91, COO, Morrison Hershfield Limited;
  • Linda McCurdy, MBA’91, President and CEO, K-Bro Linen Systems Inc.;
  • Akela Peoples, BA’88, President and CEO, The Learning Partnership; and
  • Sarah Saska-Crozier, PhD candidate, co-founder and Partner, Feminuity, and fellow, MaRS Discovery District.
